Craig Hill, Madison County District 3 Commissioner, and Marc Robbins, Green Mountain Nature Trail and Park Manager, have extended this invitation for all Green Mountain residents to attend a ceremony, on Wednesday, April 11 at 10 am, to kick off the Park and Nature Trail’s building and trail renovations.
Grant funding for the project was received through the efforts of State Senator Clay Scofield, State Representatives Mike Ball and Howard Sanderford, as well as Alabama’s Mountains, Rivers and Valleys Resource Conservation and Development (AMRV RC&D) Council members, including Mike Roden, Executive Director, and Newby and Drayton Cozby.
Lowes donated and delivered material and supplies for replacing the trail’s landscape timbers, as well as for repairing the travelers depot’s roof in the interior of the park. Additionally, the bridge crossing in the back of the park will also be repaired.
